Top Ten Tuesday: Page To Screen

TTT-NEW

Hosted By That Artsy Reader Girl

Today I am going to share with you all my top favorite books that I hope one day will be a movie or T.V Show.

Heartless-Marissa-Meyer

Heartless By Marissa Meyer

My all-time favorite type of stories is the villain’s story and how they became who they are. This story would make a great movie about the Queen Of Hearts and who she was before the Queen. I truly hope one day this book would be on the big screen!

30238163

Ace Of Shades By Amanda Foody

I need to see this story on the big screen. So much interesting and uniqueness. The characters and the world building and some fantasy into it would make a great story on the big screen however I would like to see it as a T.V show. (I have yet to read the second book!)

ChildrenOfBloodAndBone

Children Of Blood And Bone By Tomi Adeyemi

This is going to be epic! I heard they are in the process of making this lovely story into a movie, with that being said I am very excited to see this happen and know it will be a very popular movie when it does come out.

Six Of Crows By Leigh Bardugo

Another one I hear that is going to be on the big screen but as a T.V show on Netflix! For anyone who read this book and the second one know that this one will be a good one and should be interesting to see it as a T.V show rather than a big movie. So much adventure and action and characters I can’t wait to see them on the screen.

The Cruel Prince By Holly Black

I can picture this being an amazing fantasy movie series. I would love to see the Fey world come to life and seeing the fairies and their custom ways and seeing the characters and the actual unique clothes they would wear and just everything about this book on the big screen would be so magical.

Those are my top five books that I have my finger crossed in hopes that they would make it on the screen one day.

Top Ten Tuesday: Inspirational/Thought-Provoking Book Quotes

TTT-NEW

Hosted By That Artsy Reader Girl

Book quotes are everything to me especially when it hits me good. The weird thing is I never share those quotes on my book blog, it’s a rare occasion if I do. I like to keep them to myself and write them personally into my diary to remember those words. However, for today, I will like to share some of those book quotes that just hit me good you know!

“Hope! Is The Thing With Feathers.”The Sun Is Also A Star

“We Are All someone’s monster.” – Six Of Crows

“Everyone always underestimates the idiot.”  – Heartless

“If I cannot be better than them, I will become so much worse.” The Cruel Prince

“f you want something, you should let yourself have it.” – Ace Of Shades

“A plane flew across the sky and for a second, she imagined the rows of people tucked neatly inside, watching movies and sipping sodas. No idea they were flying over a boy training crows.” – Crow Flight

Happy Reading All!

Top Ten Tuesday: Things I’ve Done For The Love Of Books

TTT-NEW

Hosted By That Artsy Reader Girl

I have not had the opportunity to do something crazy for the love of books however what I have done are just minor things. Perhaps in the future like if Marissa Meyer was visiting my city I would do just anything to go meet her and sign my books even if that means going at the last minute in my pajamas. Here are just a few things I have done for the love of all books.

VIVICA A. FOX BOOK SIGNING AT BARNES AND NOBLE

I love Autobiography books second favorite genre in books I also love Kill Bill the movie so once I found out that Vivica was going to be doing a book signing for her new book I was all in. Not only was her book inspiring I knew I had to go but one thing the signing was all the way on the other side of the city ( No big deal really) just means to get up early to make sure I’m ready to go also I don’t have my drivers license..yet! So that means my Aunt Nicky was going to take me since my boyfriend is not all about books and this is a must thing to do! To make the story short I was stressed out, leaving the house to forget the book to have to turn around to get it. traffic was insane. My aunt who is not from Las Vegas who moved from Michigan to live out here got us lost and didn’t listen to my instructions to get to the book store. Let’s just say once I got there I was just not in the best mood but I made it and it was worth all the stress.

STOLE A BOOK

You read that right but don’t freak out just yet and let me explain my story! Let me take you back to the 90’s when I was just six years old. This was my first time and very last time I have ever stolen anything in my life (Unless it was the last donut in the house) My mother and I went to a store to do some shopping. I was wondering around close to my mom while she was looking at some clothes but I found this little book called “The Art Of The Lion King” I hid the book from my mom and when we left the store and got in the car I was in the back seat looking at the book. My mother looked back and question me and I never heard the end of it where she went right back to the store and made me walk up to the store employee to return the book and apologize for stealing. Never again! I was so embarrassed. Many years later when I was in Michigan I was in a book thrift store and I found the same book which of course this time around I bought the book and still have it today to remind me of this lesson.

I have other things I do for the love of books which is missing out on my favorite show to read or sometimes eat dinner later at night so I can continue to read, read in the bathtub or take my book everywhere with me and when I was working for customer service I was reading my book the whole time while I was supposed to be assisting people on the phone and I was half listening (That’s if the book is really really good! That’s how I got thru Six Of Crows and Children Of Blood And Bone so fast I didn’t care to lose my job) Maybe some of the things are minor however I love books more than anything and would do just about anything to read or get my hands on the book or meet an author of the book.

I’m actually really curious, have any of you book lovers done anything crazy for the love of books?

Top Ten Tuesday: Things That Make Me Pick Up A Book

TTT-NEW

Hosted By That Artsy Reader Girl

I’m gonna give you my top ten things I look for in a book in order for me to actually bring that book home to read.

Number One

The book cover! If the book has anything shiny, swords, crowns, or just looks very interesting I’m gonna pick it up right away to see what it’s all about. What catches my eye is what I’m gonna pick up first. But not all pretty book covers have an interesting story…

Number Two

WHAT THE STORY IS ALL ABOUT! If the story sounds interesting, something I have not read and has some originality to the story I will take it home.

Number Three

The villain’s story. I am obsessed with books that tell the villains side of the story and how they became who they are. It is my all time and still number one favorite type of story.

Number Four

Retellings! I love a good story of a retailing of a fairy tale we all grew up and enjoyed, nothing better but a twisted side story of the original story.

Number Five

A strong female lead. Do I really need to explain this one? I absolutely love when the main character (especially women) can whoop some serious butt!

Number Six

Royal drama. I’m a sucker for these type of stories. Anything with a royal family always has some crazy drama in the story.

Number Seven

Character building. I like to see the main character start with nothing and is nothing and grows to be something when deep down they were that person the whole time.

Number Eight

You know sometimes having mystical creatures is always good! Dragons, Mermaids, and Jabberwockies!

Number Nine

Love, Love, Love! Yes, romance! I love a good romance. A good romance for me is the one with crazy adventure and they are in dangerous situations and they end up falling in love in the end or you know something like that.

Number 10

Minus the type of stories they are and what’s on the cover for me to even actually pick the book up and READ it would be the weather. If it’s raining outside I’m automatically reading outside on my porch. I live in Las Vegas so the weather is always nice (Usually) and if it’s cold outside then I’m stuck indoors and sometimes I can get destracted when it comes to being indoors all the time. I feel like I read more when it’s hot outside then cold.

That will be my Top Ten reasons why I pick up a book. Happy Reading!

TTT: My Most Recent Adds To My TBR

TTT-NEW

Hosted By That Artsy Reader Girl

Truth is I haven’t been going on my big book shopping hauls since I found out I was pregnant. So my TBR list is still the same with no add-ons to the list. With that being said I thought I could share with you all how I choose my next TBR book to read and what’s currently in my TBR list still since I haven’t added any new books to my bookshelf.

TBR Jar

This is my TBR jar for books that I still need to read. What I do is I get a piece of paper and write down the title and the authors name on the paper and fold it up and add it to the jar. I recently started doing this for this year, Instead of staring at my shelf and trying to decide what to read next I just select a piece of paper at random. It’s a new fun way for me to pick my next book to read. I currently have 52 books on my TBR list and hoping to finish one book a week. I would like to select a new book every Thursday (That’s if I stick to my reading schedule)

Since I have 52 books on my TBR list I will share the top 5 books I’m really looking forward and finally finishing this year.

TTT: Books I Meant To Read In 2018 But Didn’t Get To

TTT-NEW

Hosted By That Artsy Reader

It’s been a while since I last did a Top Ten Tuesday, and I really miss doing this. Very excited to get back into it and look forward to looking at everyone else’s Top Ten Tuesday post.

Last year was amazing for me. I moved into a beautiful apartment that is down the street from my mother’s house and love that there is a movie theatre across the street from me. I also was working a pretty good job but the hours were horrible for me where it was hard to find time to read after work without getting so tired and of course I found out that I am expecting my first child.

With getting sidetracked there were some amazing books that I didn’t get the opportunity to read last year so here is my list of books from 2018 I meant to read but didn’t get to.

Small Fry By Lisa Brennan – Jobs

I really can’t believe I haven’t read this yet! I got this right when it came out and have yet to read this. This is definitely on my top TBR list and my next read after I finish my current read.
